Adopt-a-Spoil Island is a community volunteer-driven component to the Spoil Island Project. Adopt-a-Spoil Island engages local community members to get involved with helping the lagoon while enjoying the water, boating, and the outdoors. The program is great for individuals of all ages and is an excellent opportunity for individuals, groups, and organizations. Adopt-a-Spoil Island is free and involves adopting a recreational island for a one-year term while conducting at least one cleanup each quarter for a total of four cleanups a year.
To learn more about the program and how to apply contact our office at 772-429-2995 or by email at IRLAP@FloridaDEP.gov
