Attention Clyde Butcher fans and photography lovers! An exhibition by the multi-award-winning national photographer is coming to St. Lucie County.
FOSI has partnered with the St. Lucie Cultural Alliance, the MIDFLORIDA Event Center, Florida Humanities, and the Smithsonian to bring you Clyde Butcher’s Living Waters exhibit.
Clyde Butcher, a self-taught professional photographer is known for his remarkable black and white and landscape photographs, composes his work throughout the United States and abroad.
Mr. Butcher developed a collection of photographs of Florida’s Aquatic Preserves and loaned them to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to be displayed at public facilities like State Parks, local galleries or museums to bring awareness of the aquatic preserves to Florida residents and visitors. The Clyde Butcher gallery, in their extreme generosity and love of the Aquatic Preserve system eventually donated the collection to the Aquatic Preserve Society, to be shared by all of the aquatic preserves offices throughout the state.
On October 1, FOSI and IRLAP, in partnership with the St. Lucie Cultural Alliance will have the collection on display at the Mid Florida Events Center in Port St. Lucie.
Come to the Alliance season-opening celebration and this well-anticipated stop of the moving gallery to enjoy the solo exhibition, Living Waters, filled with 29 of Clyde Butcher’s large-format breathtaking photographs, live music, hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar. The collection will be on display through January 2022.
